About the Project
The figures are made ahead of a premiere. Nothing may leak, and the date is fixed: the figures must be ready for launch, lifelike enough for close-up photos.
Where likeness matters, we combine two methods: head, hands and fine details 3D printed, body and large surfaces milled. The face stays accurate and the figure is still finished fast.
Digital model → 3D print for head and hands → Milling the body → Surface and paint → Installation.
For the launch of “Disenchantment”, the main characters stood in Bremen as the Town Musicians and then toured northern Germany. Outdoors, stability, weatherproof materials and fast set-up mattered. At night a security team moved the figures to safe rooms.
