About the Project
Louis Vuitton wanted an orange XXL figure for appearances in two department stores. Shoppers touch the figure there, and every install and strike leaves marks. So it had to travel well and be easy to restore.
A GRP figure in one strong orange, painted for indoor use. After each appearance it comes back to the workshop to be restored.
GRP production → Orange paint → Install at Galeries Lafayette → Repaint → Install at KaDeWe.
The figure stood at Galeries Lafayette and then at KaDeWe. After Lafayette it was repainted at Louis Vuitton’s request. For outdoor use it would need new paint, the current finish is made for indoors.
Retail rebuilds and customer contact: GRP keeps the XXL figure form-stable, transportable, and repaintable between KaDeWe and Lafayette.
Glass-fiber reinforced plastic for XXL objects that must stay light yet hold up outdoors and in transport.
The suit silhouette must read brand-clear at distance: CNC turns the model true to scale for window impact.
